Para-swimmer Faye Rogers has been voted Athletes’ Athlete of the Month following her exploits at the Para Swimming World Series event in Italy.
The Paralympic gold medallist was in sensational form in Lignano Sabbiadoro, where she won four medals and set a world and European record in two events.
Presented by the British Elite Athletes Association (BEAA), the Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award celebrates the achievements of Britain’s elite sportspeople.
It recognises competitive achievements, personal development, inspiring comebacks, charity work, and awareness-raising, and is voted for by BEAA members - athletes funded by UK Sport’s World Class Programme.
Faye was in sensational form in Italy, winning the multi-classification women's 200m butterfly in a time of 2:22.77 to set a world record in the S10 classification.
She followed that up with a European S10 record of 1:05.46 in the 100m butterfly to secure a silver medal and won bronze in both the MC 100m and 400m freestyle events.
Congratulations to Faye for winning and also to Amber Anning (athletics), Kirsty Muir (skiing) and Matt Weston (skeleton) for being shortlisted.
Athletes can get involved in choosing the winner of future awards via the BEAA’s monthly member emails.
