The nominees for the March Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award have been confirmed following a memorable few weeks for British sport.

Amber Anning (athletics), Kirsty Muir (skiing), Faye Rogers (para-swimming), and Matt Weston (skeleton) have all been shortlisted after delivering medal-winning performances over the last month.

The British Elite Athletes Association (BEAA) presents the Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award in recognition of sporting and personal triumphs. The winner is decided by current and former World Class Programme athletes.

Amber is recognised after becoming Great Britain's first women's 400m champion at the World Athletics Indoor Championships. The 24-year-old pulled ahead in the home straight to cross the line with a time of 50.60 seconds to claim her first senior individual medal on the global stage. That victory completed a fine month for Amber, who also won silver in the women’s 4x400m relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

Kirsty joins her on the shortlist after an impressive month following a return from a serious knee injury. Having been out of action for more than a year, the 20-year-old won her maiden World Cup at the Tignes Slopestyle World Cup and followed that up with a sixth-place finish at the FIS Freeski Slopestyle World Championships in Switzerland.

Paralympic gold medallist, Faye, is nominated after an excellent performance at the Para Swimming World Series event in Italy. The 22-year-old stormed to victory in the multi-classification women's 200m butterfly, winning in a time of 2:22.77 to set a world record in the S10 classification. She followed that up with a European S10 record of 1:05.46 in the 100m butterfly to secure a silver medal and won bronze in both the MC 100m and 400m freestyle events.

Completing March’s line-up is skeleton star, Matt, who earns his second consecutive nomination after winning gold at the IBSF World Championships earlier this month. Matt set a track record in Lake Placid to regain the title he last won in 2023, making history in the process as he became the first British skeleton slider to win multiple World Championship crowns. At the same championships, he secured silver in the team event with Tabby Stoecker.

Elite athletes can vote for their Athlete of the Month by heading to their latest BEAA email, with the winner to be confirmed shortly.

Former elite athletes can get involved via the British Elite Athletes Alumni app – which they can register for here.

Good luck to all four athletes!
