British Elite Athletes Association ambassador, Hannah Cockroft, has been awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours list.
The nine-time Paralympic champion is one of 43 athletes from the World Class Programme to be recognised, with 18 Olympians and 25 Paralympians honoured following their achievements in Paris this summer.
Hannah, who was given an MBE in 2013 and an OBE in 2022, receives this latest honour for her services to athletics.
It comes after another stellar showing at her fourth Paralympic Games in Paris, where she won gold in the T34 100m and 800m to further cement her reputation as one of the greatest Para-athletics stars of all time.
"Being put forward for the New Year Honours list is just the perfect ending to an incredible year," Hannah said.
"It's been a big year with two golds and a silver medal at the World Championships in Japan in May, two gold medals at the Paralympics in Paris this summer, and a wedding - so it was a surprise to get my letter, but such a proud moment."
The BEAA is delighted to see so many of its members included in this year's list and congratulates them all on this well-deserved recognition.
