The three amazing athletes in no particular order are:
These athletes will champion the work of the BAC to ensure all athletes take advantage of the independent, confidential support and advice available to them.
Hannah Cockcroft MBE said: “I have benefitted from the guidance and support of the BAC in the past, though some athletes, especially the younger ones don’t take advantage of the expertise available. I’ve had great dealings with the BAC in the past so I want to do what I can to spread the word. The fact that I’m a current athlete, hopefully, that will inspire and reassure others that it’s ok to seek independent, confidential help when they need it.”
Kristian Thomas, BAC Athlete Engagement Manager, and retired gymnast has responsibility for the Athlete Ambassador programme and will be working closely with them on athlete engagement opportunities and driving awareness of what the BAC can offer.
He said: “It’s great to have athletes of their calibre working with us to shape the support and guidance offered to our athlete membership. Being athletes, they absolutely understand the issues and challenges faced, and are perfectly placed to engage with athletes to raise awareness of the support available.”
