British Elite Athletes Association ED&I Ambassador Michael Gunning has been highly commended in the Celebrity LGBTQIA Champion of the Year category at the Rainbow Honours 2023.Michael joined the BEAA as Equality, Diversion and Inclusion Ambassador in early 2023 alongside LGBTQ+ Ambassador Robyn Love.The Rainbow Honours showcase individuals and organisations who work all year to influence change and proudly promote LGBTQIA equality. With Dame Kelly Holmes winning the award, Michael was highly commended in a field that included fellow athlete Tom Daley and stars from other industries.Michael is a Jamaican-British swimmer best known for participating in the 200m butterfly.
